New chairman takes WMATA's helm

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Jan. 25 swore in Maryland Metro Board Member Decatur Trotter chairman.


Trotter heads business consulting firm Trotter-Speights & Associates and serves as vice president for new development at Landover, Md.-based American Capital partners.


He succeeds Gladys Mack, board member representing District of Columbia and will serve as chairman until January 2002.


WMATA also named, Chris Zimmerman, representative from Arlington County, Va., first vice chairman and Jim Graham, D.C. representative, second vice chairman.
