Georgia, Atlanta and federal officials recently celebrated the grand opening of the Buckhead Bridge, which spans Georgia State Route 400 in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood.

The bridge will provide pedestrians access from the east to west side of the highway, and to the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority's (MARTA) Buckhead Station.

"Safe and convenient transit access is critical if we want to create a more pedestrian-friendly city," said MARTA Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Keith Parker in a prepared statement. "The Buckhead Bridge is another opportunity for residents and visitors to move about more freely and to enjoy the benefits of using MARTA."
