New software provides smart-card clearinghouse alternative
advertisement
Cubic Transportation Systems Inc. recently introduced software designed to eliminate the need for a central clearinghouse in regional smart card and magnetic ticketing systems.
The Peer-to-Peer Clearing™ software would enable transit agencies to save money by "self-clearing," rather than outsourcing clearinghouse services to third-party providers, according to a prepared statement. Agencies would be able to clear and recover fares collected from inter-agency transactions that are part of a regional smart card or magnetic ticketing system.
