Tulsa Transit soon will begin a feasibility study to determine whether it should launch commuter rail and/or bus rapid-transit service between downtown Tulsa and Broken Arrow, Okla.

The six-month study will be conducted by Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, which has completed similar studies in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio, Texas. The firm will provide station options, identify potential riders and determine costs associated with the various options.

Tulsa Transit will hold six public hearings beginning later this month to outline and obtain feedback on the transit options.
