Paris Regional Transit Authority (RATP) recently installed a rapid-moving walkway at Montparnasse-Bienvenue subway station. The 606-foot walkway links the SNCF train station at Montparnasse with RATP Metro subway lines 4, 6, 12 and 13.

Developed by turnkey system designer CNIM Group, Gateway is designed to provide safe, continuous transportation over distances from 500 feet to a half-mile at a speed of about 6.9 mph — or four times faster than the speeds conventional moving walkways generate, according to a prepared statement.
