The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced Angel Pena as the new chief of capital transformation at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).

Pena is the former chief of the Green Line Transformation and will take office in his new role Oct. 31. He’ll lead the Green Line Transformation program along with the Red Line and Orange Line programs. Pena is also expected to spearhead similar programs with the new MBTA Capital Programs initiative.

"We are very excited about the establishment of Capital Transformation Programs, which will enhance Capital Programs' ability to deliver our expanding program for our ridership and customers," said MBTA Chief of Capital Programs James Neider in a notice sent this week to MBTA contractors and vendors.
