Pittsburgh port authority to raise fares July 1
advertisement
Effective July 1, the Port Authority of Allegheny County will raise the price on most fares, including cash fares for full- and half-fare riders, all tickets and passes.
The fare hikes are necessary to balance the agency’s fiscal-year 2013 budget, which begins July 1, port authority officials said in a prepared statement.
The price increases range from a few cents for daily one-way cash fares to several dollars for weekly, monthly and annual passes. Riders can use previously purchased tickets through Sept. 30 if they pay the difference in cash.
