advertisement
Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) recently awarded a $37.1 million contract to Cubic Corp. to install an automatic fare-collection system on its rapid-transit line.
The Smart Card technology would be integrated with New York City Transit’s MetroCard system, enabling passengers to pay for their PATH rides with a Smart Card or MetroCard.
The system first will be installed at the temporary World Trade Center PATH station, which is scheduled to open in November.
