Port of Oakland awards people-mover consulting contract to Jakes Associates

The Port of Oakland recently awarded Jakes Associates Inc. a $1.14 million consulting contract to help develop an automated people mover connector designed to link Oakland International Airport with Bay Area Rapid Transit’s elevated rail station at Oakland Coliseum.
Jakes Associates will provide strategic and technical advice in a variety of areas, including interagency contractual issues, system design integration, risk and liability mitigation, security concerns and schedule coordination.
The port is funding the project through a Federal Highway Administration/California Department of Transportation grant.
