RTA ends nine-month safety director search
advertisement
Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Dec. 21 named Pamela McCombe safety director after a nine-month national search.
In her new post, McCombe will manage an annual budget of $800,000, supervise three staff members, and help investigate all accidents on RTA vehicles and at its facilities, evaluate safety processes, formulate and implement solutions, and promote safety campaigns and programs.
McCombe, who comes to RTA with 17 years of transit experience including stints in St. Louis and Toronto, plans to stress prevention rather than crisis management and communicate high safety standards to all levels of employees.
