Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) recently completed a $6.6 million track rehabilitation between Tower City and East 55th Street.
The 2.5-mile rehabilitation is expected to enhance service and provide a safer, smoother ride. Crews installed a new rail fastening system, replaced or repaired 25 switches, and replaced more than two miles of rail, 8,000 ties, 26,000 feet or track surfacing and a mile of heavy-duty restraining rail.
The work was completed by Delta Railroad.
