The Regional Transportation District of Denver’s (RTD) board last week approved a measure to continue allowing active duty U.S. military personnel to obtain free rides on all modes. The agency has extended the program to Dec. 31, 2017, RTD officials said in a press release. To be eligible to a free ride, military personnel must present an active-duty ID card or wear the appropriate Class A or Class B uniforms. The idea was first proposed in October 2006 by Bernie Rogoff, commissioner of veterans affairs for the city or Aurora, Colo.
