The Regional Transportation District of Denver's (RTD) board recently voted to extend the Active Duty Military Free Ride program through Dec. 31, 2014.
The program allows all members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves to use all RTD services for free.
"RTD is pleased to officially recognize the sacrifices our military personnel have to make every day. We hope that in some small way this helps reward their service to their country," said RTD Chairman Lee Kemp in a prepared statement.
To use the program, active military personnel must wear an appropriate Class A or Class B uniform at the time of boarding, or present a valid military I.D. card.
