Regional Transportation District-Denver (RTD) held three virtual public meetings Oct. 4 and 5 to obtain feedback about proposed service changes that would go into effect in January 2022.

The proposed changes will further modify the current COVID-19 service plan that has been in place since April 2020. Many of the routes proposed for service improvements serve vulnerable communities that rely on transit, according to a news release.

In addition to the service changes, RTD will continue to monitor routes and make ongoing adjustments to accommodate changes in ridership. Customers must also continue to wear masks, which is a federal requirement, through Jan. 18, 2022.

This service-change proposal will improve on-time performance, increase service reliability and support modest increases in ridership, RTD officials said in a news release.
