On Friday, the New Mexico Department of Transportation and Mid-Region Council of Governments will open the new Bernalillo County/International Sunport Station on the Rail Runner Express commuter-rail line.
The station will serve the Albuquerque International Sunport and Mesa del Sol, a residential community under development.
In July 2006, the agencies launched service on the Belen-to-Bernalillo Rail Runner. The system currently carries between 1,800 and 2,400 passengers daily.
