A New Jersey Transit train crashed into the Hoboken train station this morning, causing extensive damage. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on CNN that one person is confirmed dead.
All passengers have been removed from the train and stations, Christie said. The Federal Railroad Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, the New Jersey attorney general, NJ Transit and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are investigating the crash's cause, the governor said.
Early news reports three people are dead and more than 100 people have been injured.
The incident prompted all NJ Transit and PATH rail service to be suspended into and out of Hoboken, N.J., according to NJ Transit and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
