SEPTA expands pre-tax employee ticket program
advertisement
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) recently expanded its Commuter’s Choice program to provide more options to employers who offer transit passes to employees. Under the program, employees can purchase train and bus tickets with pre-tax dollars.
Commuter’s Choice now includes a WageWorks Passport electronic transit voucher system designed to enable enrolled participants to order monthly or 10-trip tickets online. Tickets then are mailed to passengers.
Commuter’s Choice also offers TransitChek, which enables employers to provide employees vouchers that can be redeemed to purchase passes to every transit agency in the Greater Philadelphia area.
In addition, the program offers ComPass, which enables companies to purchase monthly passes at a 5 percent discount. Employers then can offer employees an additional 5 percent discount.
