SEPTA nearing completion of power-system upgrade project
advertisement
This weekend, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) plans to begin construction on the final phase of a project designed to modify a Center City electrical system.
Scheduled to be completed in July, the $17 million Rail Power project would rebuild a 70-year-old overhead electrical power system between 30th Street and Suburban stations.
Until the project is complete, alternating track shut downs are required. Schedules on all routes will change, with reduced train frequencies on some lines.
