Rail News: Passenger Rail
On April 25, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will operate new regional rail schedules on several lines.
The authority will revise its schedule for 13 midday weekday trains on the R3 West Trenton and R3 Media/Elwyn lines to accommodate trackwork and improvements to electrical overhead power line systems.
SEPTA also will adjust weekday schedules on the R5 Paoli-Thorndale line to better coordinate operations with Amtrak service.
Finally, trains will leave Chestnut Hill Station earlier during weekday mornings to improve on-time performance on the R7 Chestnut Hill East line.
SEPTA will make minor adjustments to weekday schedules on all other regional rail routes to accommodate increased ridership and add separation space between departing trains, according to a prepared statement.
