SEPTA to re-bid rail-car order

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) recently announced it’s rejecting all current bids for 104 regional rail cars and requesting new proposals.
"The re-bid should encourage more competition which, in the end, will benefit the taxpayers," said SEPTA General Manager Faye Moore in a prepared statement.
An interested party recently raised a legal issue claiming potential ambiguity in the authority’s request for proposals, SEPTA officials said, adding that as a result, the number of bidders might have been inadvertently narrowed.
