SEPTA unveils Android app for travel information

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) this week announced the release of its free Android application, which offers real-time travel updates and schedules.

The app features many of the travel resources currently available on SEPTA's website and includes such popular online features as Next To Arrive, TrainView and TransitView, agency officials said in a press release.

Schedules for all modes of travel are available on the app, and travel updates and alerts are provided through the system status feature, which offers the latest service information for all SEPTA trains, buses and trolleys.

"The Android app is another step in our ongoing effort to enhance the customer experience," said SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey.

The public beta release of the SEPTA Android app follows the launch of SEPTA's official iPhone app last fall. The Android app is available through the Google Play Store.
