SFRTA board elects chair, vice chair

Kristin Jacobs has been elected chairwoman and Steven Abrams, vice chairman of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s (SFRTA) board. They both will serve one-year terms.
Jacobs, a commissioner for Broward County, Fla., has championed green initiatives for the past several years, including as “an ardent supporter of mass transit as a means of easing traffic congestion and pollution in Broward County,” SFRTA officials said in a prepared statement.
Abrams, a Palm Beach County commissioner, is the former mayor of Boca Raton and a past president of the League of Cities.
