The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) recently received two awards.

The agency’s finance department received a “certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting” from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The certificate is given to government units and public employee retirement systems whose comprehensive annual financial reports “achieve the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting,” SFRTA officials said in a prepared statement.

The agency also received the award of excellence in public procurement from the Florida Association of Public Purchasing Officers Inc. The award recognizes agencies that meet or exceed benchmarks and best practices in procurement.
