advertisement
Bombardier Transportation recently received a $71 million order from French National Railways (SNCF) for 14 Autorail Grande Capacite (AGC) trains.
Bombardier plans to build the high-capacity trains at its Crespin plant in France’s Valenciennes region, and deliver them between January 2006 and December 2007, according to a prepared statement.
The Region of Limousin ordered 12 of the trains, which are equipped with diesel and electric transmission. The Region of Auvergne ordered the other two, which are powered by diesel motorization.
The follow-on order increases a contract SNCF awarded to Bombardier in December 2001 to supply up to 500 AGC trains to the French Regions. So far, SNCF has ordered 270 AGC trains.
