Later this month, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) will hold two public meetings to gather feedback on proposed transit-oriented development projects near the Florin and Meadowview light-rail stations.
SacRT, which owns about 20 acres of land adjacent to each station, plans to develop a mix of housing, office, retail and open space.
“Transit-oriented development is a smart way to develop economically and socially vibrant communities centered around accessible transit,” said SacRT General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Mike Wiley in a prepared statement.
The transit-oriented developments are in line with the agency’s recently adopted TransitAction Plan, a long-range framework for developing and delivering transit projects and programs through 2035, according to SacRT.
