The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) today is reopening its 7th and Capitol light-rail station after completing a $1.89 million renovation project.

Planned as the "flagship station" for light-rail service to the new Golden 1 Center arena, the station features new shelters, security cameras, fare vending machines, public address system and signage. The arena is slated to open Friday.

This afternoon, SacRT Chairman Jay Schenirer will join local dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the station.
