San Francisco's Muni advances agency review program
advertisement
Yesterday, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) announced it has compiled revised staff recommendations for the Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP), a comprehensive agency review.
The revised TEP recommendations were based on comments received from Muni customers, community members, employees and other stakeholders on how to improve transit reliability, reduce travel times, and create a comprehensive and improved transit network that better reflects the changing travel patterns in San Francisco. Most of the comments led to revised route proposals, according to the agency.
SFMTA plans to seek approval of the revised recommendations at a Sept. 16 meeting. Reliability improvements, delay reduction efforts and related pilot projects will begin in the next several months, and route and line changes could be implemented as early as July 2009.
