Yesterday, Sound Transit appointed Celia Kupersmith deputy chief executive officer to succeed Ron Tober, who is departing the agency to return to Charlotte, N.C.
Most recently, Kupersmith was general manager of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, where she oversaw the operations of the Golden Gate Bridge, a bus transit system and the largest ferry system in California, Sound Transit officials said in a prepared statement. She previously was executive director of the Regional Transportation Commission in Reno, Nev., and deputy general manager of Capital Metro in Austin, Texas.
