Sound Transit has begun simulated service testing of the 3.4-milel Redmond Technology-to-South Bellevue extension of the Link light-rail 2 Line in preparation for the May 10 launch of revenue service.

Known as the East Link Extension, the line will serve the Eastside region of Seattle's metro area. The extension will stop at two new stations in Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond, which will become the new permanent terminus on the Eastside, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

The 2 Line will run every 10 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. seven days a week between the South Bellevue and Downtown Redmond stations.

The new Marymoor Village Station includes a 1,400-stall parking garage and is located near the Marymoor Park. The Downtown Redmond Station is near the Redmond Town Center and new transit-oriented housing in the city's downtown.
