Sound Transit will host an open house on May 16 as part of the final design process for the East Link light-rail extension's segment in downtown Bellevue, Wash.

The East Link light-rail alignment became final on April 25, when Sound Transit's board approved cost-saving options identified in conjunction with Bellevue officials. The final design process will advance design work from about 30 percent to 100 percent completion, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

The open house, to be held at Bellevue City Hall, will review the process to establish station designs and permanent station names, as well as city projects.

The final design process will offer continuing opportunities for residents, neighborhood organizations, property owners and businesses to get involved in the project, Sound Transit officials said.
