Sound Transit modifies train schedules
advertisement
On June 7, Sound Transit will modify service on the Everett-to-Seattle and Seattle-to-Tacoma lines by providing earlier morning departures.
A train will leave the Everett station at 6:40 a.m. — 15 minutes earlier compared with the current departure — to enable commuters to get to work by 8 a.m. At Sound Transit’s Tacoma station, the first and second train will depart at 5:45 a.m. and 6:20 a.m., respectively, compared with the current 5:55 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. schedules.
Sound Transit officials worked with track owner Burlington Northern Santa Fe to adjust schedules.
Sound Transit currently is upgrading track, signals, stations and grade crossings along its north and south corridors to increase train speed and reliability, and operate more trains.
