Sound Transit names new light-rail station, adds round trip to Sounder train

Sound Transit has adopted "Angle Lake" as the name for a light-rail station slated to open in 2016 at South 200th Street and 28th Avenue in SeaTac, Wash.
The name was a top pick of residents and others who attended the agency's public meetings or responded to an online survey, Sound Transit officials said in a prepared statement.
The station will be located on the South 200th Link extension. PCL Civil Constructors Inc. began the extension's design in October. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2013 and service is slated to start in 2016 — four years earlier than planned according to the voter-approved Sound Transit 2 ballot measure and within the same timeframe as the University Link light-rail extension.
The 1.6-mile extension to South 200th Street will run south from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on an elevated guideway along 28th Avenue South.
Meanwhile, Sound Transit's board also recently approved a 2013 service plan that will add a tenth Sounder commuter-rail round-trip train between Lakewood, Wash., and Seattle, starting in September.
