advertisement
Yesterday, Sound Transit and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) broke ground on the next stage of construction of new HOV lanes on Interstate 90 to prepare for East Link light-rail service between Seattle and the Eastside.
The HOV lanes will pave the way for the new light-rail line, which is scheduled to launch construction in late 2013 or early 2014. The line is projected to open for service between Seattle, Mercer Island and Bellevue in 2020, with service to Overlake to be added in 2021.
