Sound Transit seeks input on transit expansion options
advertisement
Last November, Seattle-area voters failed to approve a roads and transit package that called for building 50 miles of new light-rail lines, a downtown Seattle streetcar system and commuter-rail extensions. Now, Sound Transit officials are going back to area residents to determine exactly what types of transit expansions they would support.
The agency has mailed postcards to Puget Sound residents encouraging them to fill out an online survey that asks for their views on improving local transit service. Among the questions: How ambitious should a transit package be? What are the highest priorities for service expansions? And how soon should a plan be brought to voters?
Residents can fill out the surveys through March 9. In mid-March, Sound Transit will present the responses to the board.
