Sound Transit slates open house on Sumner commuter-rail station improvements

Tomorrow, Sound Transit will host an open house to review details about an improvement project for its Sounder commuter-rail station in Sumner, Wash.

At the event, agency staff will share conceptual designs for a proposed garage, surface lot and other non-motorized access improvements, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

The public also will be able to comment on the environmental analysis of the project.

In the 2008 Sound Transit 2 ballot measure, voters approved funding for improving commuter access to Sounder stations. Station improvements being considered at Sumner include a parking garage with 623 stalls, and enhanced connections for pedestrians and bicycle users.
