Sound Transit authorities and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) are scheduled to mark the start of construction of the South 200th Link light-rail extension at a groundbreaking ceremony to be held April 26 in SeaTac, Wash.

The project, which will extend Link light-rail service to the new Angle Lake Station in SeaTac, includes a 1.6-mile elevated guideway and station, along with a garage parking, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, a plaza area and public art. Service is slated to begin in late 2016.

The public is invited to the ceremony to learn more about the construction schedule, view 3-D animations of the project, and see the latest station and public art designs, Sound Transit officials said in a press release.
