advertisement
On Monday, Seattle’s Sound Transit plans to begin a project designed to expand the commuter parking lot at the Puyallup Sounder station.
Through a partnership with the city of Puyallup and Puyallup Fair & Events Center, and with a combination of local and federal funding, Sound Transit will create 219 permanent satellite park-and-ride spaces for commuters.
The three-month, $2.8 million project will be funded via a $1.85 million regional mobility grant from Washington state, a $780,000 grant secured by the city of Puyallup from the Federal Transit Administration and $250,000 in matching funds from Sound Transit.
