Sound Transit to solicit public input on light-rail extension

Sound Transit officials will solicit public input on the design of the South 200th Link light-rail extension at a meeting to be held on Wednesday.
The meeting will be the first time the public will be able to view project renderings since the agency’s board accelerated by four years the design and construction of the project, Sound Transit officials said in a prepared statement. Service on the South 200th light-rail extension is scheduled to start with the University Link in 2016.
The $383.2 million project calls for extending light-rail service 1.6 miles south from Sea-Tac Airport to South 200th Street. By 2018, the South 200th Station is projected to serve an estimated 2,700 riders on weekdays.
