Sound Transit’s Link 2 Line light-rail route between Redmond Technology Station and Downtown Redmond, Washington, will open for passenger service May 10, the agency announced yesterday. The initial segment of the 2 Line between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology Station opened in April 2024.

The 3.4-mile Downtown Redmond extension includes two new stations, at Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond. Two-car trains will run every 10 minutes between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., Sound Transit officials said in a press release.

The full 2 Line is expected to open late this year with completion of the Interstate 90 segment of the East Link light rail. When completed, the I-90 segment will connect the 2 Line to the 1 Line at the District/Chinatown station in downtown Seattle.
