St. Louis Metro restores service after voters approve transit tax
advertisement
Yesterday, St. Louis Metro began restoring services that were cut in 2009. Residents approved a half-cent transit tax in April, enabling the agency to fund the services.
Under the first phase of the restoration, the agency has increased rush-hour frequency of MetroLink trains by 25 percent and increased frequency of some MetroBus routes. The second phase of the restoration is scheduled for Aug. 30.
St. Louis Metro has cancelled plans to further cut transit service and will permanently restore routes that were only temporarily restored last year.
