Stockholm transit agency orders 70 Bombardier trainsets

Stockholm Public Transport Authority (SL) Dec. 19 signed a $171 million contract with Bombardier Transportation to supply 70 Vagn 2000-type three-car metro units to replace existing vehicles.
The authority already has 161 of the 152.6-foot units in service; the current order brings to 270 the total number of Vagn 2000 units SL’s ordered to date.
Deliveries are expected to begin in September 2002 and conclude in spring 2004.
