Trinity Railway Express, a joint service of Dallas Area Rapid Transit and The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T), plans to extend service to Fort Worth, Texas, Dec. 3 with free rides that day and Saturday, Dec. 8.
TRE plans to depart Dallas’ Union Station between 5:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. weekdays; eastbound trips will leave downtown Fort Worth’s Texas & Pacific Station from 5:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. The commuter trains will link the two cities Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 10:15 p.m.
DART and The T launched TRE’s first segment, between Dallas and Irving, in December 1996, then extended the line to Richland Hills in September 2000. The service will connect with bus routes at all seven stations. Free shuttle buses transport passengers from CentrePort/DFW Airport Station to airline terminals.
One-way fares on TRE are $2; round-trip, $4.
