As the busy holiday travel season approaches, the Transportation Security Administration, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Los Angeles World Airports recently announced plans to expand the nationwide “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign at downtown L.A.’s Union Station. The campaign aims to raise public awareness and improve security.

Originally implemented by New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the campaign encourages the public and frontline employees to identify and report indications of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities.

To improve local reporting of suspicious behaviors and activities, the parties will use the Los Angels Police Department’s confidential iWATCH community reporting program.
