Earlier this week, the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Co. (MBCR) announced that 10 students, including three women, graduated from its locomotive engineer training program. The graduates earned Class I Passenger Engineers certification, the highest status attainable, according to MBCR, which operates the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s commuter-rail trains.
MBCR’s year-long training program includes 10 weeks of classroom training followed by months of field training.
