The Toronto Transit Commission on April 4 reached a service milestone of 34 billion customer trips across its bus, streetcar and subway networks since operations began in 1921.

The milestone follows a year of significant ridership growth, TTC officials said in a press release. In 2024, customers took 420 million trips across the TTC network — an increase of 23.5 million rides from 2023.

Specifically, customers made 181 million subway rides and 35 million streetcar trips, along with 204 million bus trips. The TTC expects approximately 439 million rides in 2025 across the transit system.
