Toronto transit agency mandates COVID-19 vaccine

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has issued a new mandatory vaccination policy for all its employees, contractors and students.

All employees are required to receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by Oct. 30.

"Safety is paramount in all we do at the TTC. Getting vaccinated remains one of the most important ways we can protect each other and our community," said TTC Chief Executive Officer Richard Leary in a news release. "From the moment an employee steps onto TTC property, it is our duty to do everything in our power to ensure their safety."

The commission plans to continue working with employees and labor unions to address and resolve any questions or concerns about the vaccination policy.
