TransLink retains one, adds two board members

The Mayors’ Council on Regional Transportation recently reappointed Nancy Olewiler to TransLink’s board. A professor in Simon Fraser University’s economics department and director of the college’s graduate public policy program, she will serve her second three-year term.

The council also named Barry Forbes and Don Rose to the board to fill vacancies left by Dale Parker and David Unruh, who both elected not to stand for reappointment. They will serve three-year terms expiring Jan. 1, 2014.

Forbes is president and chief executive officer of Westminster Savings and Credit Union; Rose has 25 years of experience in commercial and corporate law, and served more than 12 years in various senior governance roles.

Vancouver, British Columbia’s regional transportation authority, TransLink oversees the SkyTrain, West Coast Express Ltd. and Canada Line rail services.
