TransLink to add elevator at Scott Road Station
advertisement
Work recently began to add an accessible elevator on the west side of TransLink’s Scott Road Station in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Scheduled for completion in 2012, the $5.1 million project is being funded by the Canadian government, province of British Columbia and TransLink. The project involves the construction of a glass-and-steel structure for the elevator.
The project is part of the OnTrack program, which calls for maintaining and upgrading the Skytrain system during its 25th anniversary. Other elements of the program include replacing running rails and power rails, and preparing stations for the installation of fare gates and inauguration of the “Compass Card” in 2013.
