Transdev's Connect 6ix consortium, a group of railroad engineering firms and suppliers, has been selected to deliver the Ontario Line Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project.

The RSSOM is one of several projects to build the Ontario Line, a nearly 10-mile stand-alone transit line to connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place in Toronto, Transdev officials said in a press release.

The RSSOM contract calls for a design-build-finance-operate-maintain contract for the entire Ontario Line for a 30-year term.

The Connect 6ix team includes Transdev Canada Inc., Plenary Americas, Hitachi Rail, Webuild Group, IBI Group Inc. and NGE Contracting Inc. National Bank Financial Inc. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. serve as financial advisers.

The team will continue to negotiate with Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx on a final contract, which will be awarded later this year, Transdev officials said.
