advertisement
The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) is marking the fifth anniversary of the Interstate MAX Yellow Line.
Since opening in May 2004, the 5.8-mile line has served 20.4 million passengers and helped prompt business development along the corridor; during the past five years, 50 new businesses have sprouted up and more than $249 million in transit-oriented development has been built around the line.
Last year, weekday ridership on the line totaled 13,600 passengers, up 16 percent compared with its first year of operation.
The Yellow Line connects the Expo Center in North Portland to the Rose Quarter and downtown Portland.
